More than eighty recovery supporters gathered in a large circle on the field prior to the Columbia Fireflies game against the Asheville Tourists at Spirit Communications Park on August 30th for Columbia’s first ever Recovery Circle. The circle kicked off September as National Recovery Month and illustrated the important connections in Columbia’s recovery community.
LRADAC’s President and CEO, Gayle Aycock, presented the circle to the fans in the stadium saying, “Through prevention and treatment, there is hope in recovery. In fact, people in recovery are all around us throughout our community. This circle symbolizes how we are all connected as recovery-supportive community offering encouragement, support, and hope. For individuals and families impacted by this disease, the strength of family and community is behind you.”
The Recovery Circle also kicked off the LRADAC Foundation’s third annual Rock for Recovery campaign that will raise awareness and support for individuals and families in treatment at LRADAC. Visit Rock for Recovery’s webpage at lradac.org/foundation/r4r17.
