Rock 4 Recovery with Everclear

July 23, 2024

Everclear, one of the leading alternative rock bands of the ‘90s, to headline Rock 4 Recovery 2024 Presented by Dominion Energy

One of the most eclectic and beloved bands of the ‘90s alternative rock scene is coming to the Midlands as Everclear headlines the LRADAC Foundation’s 5th annual Rock 4 Recovery concert presented by Dominion Energy. Taking place on Friday, October 4, at the Icehouse Amphitheater in Lexington, the annual substance-free concert helps raise awareness about the power and healing of recovery from substance misuse. All proceeds from the concert support the programs and services of LRADAC, including assistance to persons in financial distress so they can participate in LRADAC’s treatment and recovery services for themselves and their families.

With a three-decade career that spans 11 studio releases, over 6 million records sold, and 12 Top 40 hit singles on mainstream rock, alternative, and adult Top 40 radio, Everclear is one of alt-rock’s pioneering music acts. Described by founding member, vocalist, and guitarist Art Alexakis as a “combination of a singer-songwriter and a hard-rock band,” Everclear enjoyed chart-topping success with signature songs that include “Santa Monica,” “Father of Mine,” “I Will Buy You a New Life,” “Wonderful,” and “Everything To Everyone.” With their many hits, videos, and thousands of shows, Everclear’s sound remains current and relevant to generations of fans.

Alexakis, well-known for his longtime sobriety, says he is incredibly proud that Everclear is part of a concert series that advocates the power of recovery. “Having been clean and sober for 35 years, I realize that I would not have been able to achieve what I’ve achieved both professionally and personally—my music, my band, and most importantly, my family and my friends—if I was still using and drinking,” said Alexakis. “When it comes to recovery, there is no magic pill. It takes work. Being in a 12-step program has been a real blessing in my life, and I am very grateful for my sobriety.”

“Addiction in our community casts a darkness upon our families, our neighbors and our friends,” said Keller Kissam, president of Dominion Energy South Carolina. “Thankfully, there are organizations like LRADAC that serve as a lighthouse – a beacon of guidance, safety, and hope.  Dominion Energy is so proud to partner with LRADAC as we illuminate the iconic Icehouse Amphitheatre in Lexington to celebrate the continued Rock for Recovery.”

Rock 4 Recovery with Everclear will occur Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Icehouse Amphitheater at 107 W Main St, Lexington, SC 29072. Gates open at 6:30, and Everclear takes the stage at 8 pm. A wide array of local food trucks will also be on-site for snacks, dinners, and desserts before and during the concert.
