LRADAC’s Ashley Bodiford selected as new SCAPPA President

Columbia, S.C. — Ashley Bodiford was selected as the president of South Carolina Association of Prevention Professionals and Advocates (SCAPPA).  Bodiford is a regional capacity coach housed at LRADAC and is responsible for providing adequate training, coaching and technical assistance to prevention professionals within her region.

“It is such an honor to be selected to serve as the President of the South Carolina Association of Prevention Professionals and Advocates (SCAPPA). This organization has provided continuous opportunities for prevention professionals in South Carolina through advocacy, training and leadership,” said Bodiford. “It is my goal to continue to enhance the organization and provide accessible resources to our members to ensure they are supported in the work they do each day. We have built a strong Board of Directors that embody the mission and vision of SCAPPA and I am truly looking forward to accomplishing great things together.”

As President, Bodiford will provide leadership for the association to carry out the SCAPPA mission of promoting high standards of quality in prevention by providing workforce development, membership support, certification, public recognition and advocacy for professionals in advocates in order to advance the profession of ATOD (alcohol, tobacco and other drug) related prevention.

LRADAC is the designated alcohol abuse and drug abuse authority for Lexington and Richland Counties of South Carolina. The public, not-for-profit agency offers a wide array of prevention, intervention and treatment programs in locations convenient to residents of both counties. The agency has a budget of approximately $10 million and serves more than 5,000 clients per year.
