LRADAC Launches PRESS as Online Resource Center and New Prevention Webpage

March 27, 2017

Columbia, SC – LRADAC has launched the PRESS, Prevention Resources Everyone Should See, as community resource for educational materials on the topic of alcohol and drugs.  The PRESS replaces the agency’s longstanding Community Resource Center, which served as a lending library for books, videos, brochures, and other forms of information available to the community.  Kim Larick, Vice President of Community Services and Strategic Management, stated, “As we move forward in the age of digital resources, we are reaching our community members online with a wealth of information and resources to prevent substance misuse in our community.”

The PRESS is available on LRADAC’s newly designed prevention webpage featuring the agency’s other prevention programs including community coalitions and merchant education.  The PRESS includes an electronic newsletter, ePRESS, which shares the latest information and resources with email subscribers.  Larick said, “These are great resources for parents, teachers, and other community members interested in the health and safety of our community.”

The PRESS and information about other prevention programs can be reached by visiting lradac.org/prevention.

LRADAC is the designated alcohol abuse and drug abuse authority for Lexington and Richland Counties of South Carolina. The public, not-for-profit agency offers a wide array of prevention, intervention and treatment programs in locations convenient to residents of both counties. The agency has a budget of approximately $10 million and serves more than 5,000 clients per year.
