LRADAC Launches ‘(luh-ray-dak),’ a New Brand Campaign

August 28, 2019

Columbia, SC – For over 40 years, LRADAC has dedicated resources to building a community that embraces recovery and empowers those struggling with substance misuse throughout the Midlands. The nonprofit has recently launched a new campaign, ‘(luh-ray-dak)’, with the purpose of increasing brand recognition within the local community.

In a fun and creative manner, the ‘(luh-ray-dak)’ campaign emphasizes the correct pronunciation of the organization’s name. The campaign will allow community members to become more familiar with LRADAC’s wide-array of prevention, intervention and treatment programs.

“This branding effort is an exciting way to remind the community of our purpose and mission at LRADAC,” said Kaytee Watson, LRADAC Foundation and Community Relations Director. “Our mission is to create and support pathways for the prevention and recovery from substance misuse for individuals, families and communities. Last year we served over 8,000 individuals and we believe this campaign will help us to reach far more in the future.”

According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), 19.7 million American adults battled a substance use disorder in 2017. LRADAC is one of 33 county alcohol and drug abuse authorities recognized in South Carolina. With tailored programs to meet the ever-changing needs of the communities served, LRADAC’s prevention, intervention and treatment programs provide the community with affordable and accessible services. The organization wants to inform the community that substance use disorders are preventable and treatable. To learn more about LRADAC’s services and resources, please visit: http://www.lradac.org/.

It may be hard to say but it is easy to support. In addition to the many programs and services at LRADAC, the LRADAC Foundation works to create a community that embraces recovery and provides much-needed support for those who are thinking about taking their first steps towards recovery. The foundation’s mission is to reduce substance misuse as a leading cause of family collapse and harm to children by raising support for families and programs at LRADAC. Funds raised through the LRADAC Foundation directly impact patients and services at LRADAC. For more information on how to support LRADAC or to give a donation, visit www.lradac.org/foundation.
