Non-Profit Launches Year-Long Celebrating 40 Years Campaign, July 1st

Columbia, S.C. — July 1, 2018, marked a major milestone for LRADAC: its 40th anniversary. While much has changed since July 1978, LRADAC is still dedicated to and working to create and support pathways for prevention and recovery from substance misuse for individuals, families and communities.

“We have certainly achieved this milestone through the hard work and dedication of our employees, but the real work has been done by our clients,” Gayle Aycock, LRADAC President and CEO. “LRADAC would have no purpose without the people we serve. So this year, we celebrate the lives of over 800,000 individuals and families that have allowed us to assist in their transformations over the past 40 years.”

For 40 years, LRADAC’s dedicated staff and innovative programs and services have taken a proactive approach to fighting substance misuse in our schools, businesses and neighborhoods. By reaching, empowering and renewing those struggling with substance use disorders, LRADAC continues to assist in a transformation for these individuals, their friends and families.

To celebrate the anniversary, a year-long campaign, Celebrating 40 Years, was launched on July 1. The campaign will include a celebratory breakfast banquet on September 26 at Brookland Baptist Banquet and Conference Center. Additionally, a Celebrating 40 Years website and logo will provide LRADAC with a fresh look and feel over the next year to reflect the company’s commitment to reaching and renewing lives by restoring hope that change is possible.

LRADAC is the designated alcohol abuse and drug abuse authority for Lexington and Richland Counties of South Carolina. The public, not-for-profit agency offers a wide array of prevention, intervention and treatment programs in locations convenient to residents of both counties. The agency has a budget of approximately $10 million and serves more than 5,000 clients per year.
