LRADAC and Partners to Host Dinner and Dialogue Event to Encourage Family Conversations about Youth Substance Use

Columbia, SC – LRADAC, the Project CARE Coalition, MADD South Carolina, and Richland School District Two’s Parent Institute are hosting a Dinner and Dialogue event on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to teach families about effective communication tools to help facilitate healthy family dialogue about youth substance use.

Families in attendance will hear from experts about youth substance use, participate in MADD’s Power of Parents and Power of Youth trainings, and share experiences on communicating with youth and teens about alcohol and drug use.  Parents will also take home a recipe book and written sample conversations starters to use at home.

The event will take place at the Richland Two Institute of Innovation at 763 Fashion Drive in Columbia.  Families interested in attending the event can register at careconnectsdd.eventbrite.com.

LRADAC is the designated alcohol abuse and drug abuse authority for Lexington and Richland Counties of South Carolina. The public, not-for-profit agency offers a wide array of prevention, intervention and treatment programs in locations convenient to residents of both counties. The agency has a budget of approximately $10 million and serves more than 5,000 clients per year.
