Columbia, SC – Hootie & the Blowfish drummer, Jim ‘Soni’ Sonefeld, is scheduled to play a live acoustic set at Rock 4 Recovery 2019, a concert benefitting the LRADAC Foundation. During his intimate solo performance, Sonefeld will open up about his addiction recovery story and spiritual awakening.
Sonefeld has been a member of the Grammy Award winning band, Hootie and the Blowfish, for 30 years. Their 1994 debut ‘Cracked Rear View’ remains one of the top selling debut albums of all time.
In late 2004, Sonefeld faced the truth of his drug and alcohol addiction and has been seeking recovery ever since. His journey in sobriety and passion for music led him to becoming a contemporary Christian recording artist in 2010 and he has become an advocate for both faith and recovery. Hootie and the Blowfish will release their long awaited 7th studio album November 1st.
“We are beyond excited to have such an amazing talent with a personal connection to recovery make a special appearance at our event,” said Kaytee Watson, LRADAC Foundation Executive Director.
Sonefeld takes the stage during Rock 4 Recovery on September 26, 2019. The concert will be held at the new Central Energy venue, located at 2030 Gregg St in Columbia, S.C. Complimentary appetizers and mocktails will be served during the event. Doors open at 5 p.m.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the LRADAC Foundation Recovery Scholarship Fund. Tickets are $40 and are available for sale now at https://rock4recovery.eventbrite.com.
